Terms and conditions
1. Services
I provide freelance camera operating, drone operation, and related production services as agreed in writing (including email) prior to each project.
2. Booking & Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once agreed in writing. By confirming a booking, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
3. Rates & Payment
My rates will be agreed in advance and confirmed in writing.
Unless otherwise stated:Payment is due within 30 days of invoice
Late payments may incur statutory interest and recovery costs
4. Cancellation
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the shoot: no charge
Cancellations within 48 hours: up to 50% of the agreed fee
Cancellations within 24 hours or on the day: 100% of the agreed fee
5. Weather
Adverse weather conditions may make filming unsafe or unsuitable, particularly for drone operations
In such cases, I will liaise with the client to reschedule where possible
If a booking cannot proceed due to weather, a reduced cancellation fee or postponement may be agreed at my discretion
A “weather day” (held as a backup) will be charged at a reduced agreed rate if not used
6. Working Hours & Overtime
A standard working day is up to 10 hours door-to-door (or as agreed).
Overtime may be charged for extended hours, agreed in advance where possible.
7. Kit Hire
Where equipment is supplied:
The client is responsible for its care and safe use during the booking
Loss or damage (excluding fair wear and tear) may be chargeable
Equipment remains my property at all times
8. Drone Operations
All drone work will be conducted in accordance with current UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations
Flights are subject to location permissions, airspace restrictions, and safe operating conditions
The client is responsible for obtaining any required permissions, permits, or location releases unless agreed otherwise
I reserve the right to refuse or cease drone operations if conditions are unsafe or unlawful
No liability is accepted for inability to fly due to legal, safety, or environmental restrictions
9. Data & Media
The client is responsible for ensuring all footage is backed up
I am not liable for loss of data once media leaves my possession or is handed over
Where media is supplied by me, it may be wiped after delivery unless agreed otherwise
10. Insurance
I hold appropriate public liability insurance.
The client is responsible for ensuring production insurance is in place where required, including cover for hired equipment.
11. Liability
While all reasonable care and skill will be taken:
I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including loss of profits or production delays)
Liability is limited to the value of the agreed fee
12. Force Majeure
I shall not be liable for failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control (including weather, illness, travel disruption, or equipment failure). A suitable replacement will be sought where possible.
13. Usage
Any usage rights, licensing, or ownership of footage will be agreed in writing prior to or during the project.
14. General
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
